Company Background
RAD-TEL
(PNG) LIMITED began its operations in November 1990 after acquiring the
assets and operational facilities from PHILIPS TDS, that operated since 1975
in Papua New Guinea.
At the date of commencement, RAD-TEL occupied a leased premises in Port Moresby to house its administration, sales and support. RAD-TEL also extends its sales and services by putting up branch offices in Lae for the central side of the country. The company employs that time a total of 18 staffs to handle all transaction technically and financially.
In November 1991 RAD-TEL purchased a property in Port Moresby which houses the company administration, sales, technical support workshops and service section, as well as supply warehouse.
CAPABILITIES
In
order to meet our policy of servicing, maintaining and supporting every
product line we sell, we maintain a comprehensive service center in Port
Moresby. This service center is supported by our store which holds enormous
stocks of spares and commercial products. Regional services carried out
throughout our branches located in Lae, Rabaul and Mount Hagen. These branches are able to handle most
field service requirements.
Aside
from our products, we are also able to service most brands and types of
telecommunications or power requirement.
We
have experienced and well qualified staff who can provide systems design,
technical advice and project management where required engineer can complete "turnkey"
systems.
Our Experience
RAD-TEL currently owns
and operates 5 remote site communication facilities
throughout Papua New Guinea, including two sites at higher elevations over 8000 feet
which is only accessible by helicopter. In the National Capital District,
we have two major repeater sites that holds more than 70 repeater systems.
We
have provided systems to major mining projects including OK TEDI, HIDES
Gasfield, Porgera and Bougainville. Major mining companies utilizing our
equipment or services to Government Departments and Statutory Body
including National Disaster and Emergency Services, Health, Education,
Elcom, Provincial Affairs, Telikom and others.
Apart
from radio and telephone communication systems, RAD-TEL has considerable
experience with office automation systems, computer systems and network
data systems. RAD-TEL has recently begun to export communications
equipment to Australia, Indonesia, Fiji and Solomon Islands.
